New Unfiltered Line Feature

The Unfiltered Line option allows users to compare filtered and unfiltered data on the same Line Report. Users can now easily compare an individual’s performance to their team’s performance or compare performance on an individual activity versus average performance across activities.

Using the Unfiltered Line with Quick Filters

Watershed’s Line Report allows users to choose various measures, which are then represented by different colored lines on a chart. When Quick Filters are used on a report with Unfiltered Line enabled, the report will still show two lines: one representing filtered data and one representing unfiltered data.

In the following example, the Unfiltered Line is being used to compare the total average score to the score of specific learners.

Using the Unfiltered Line with Secondary Dimensions

Many Line Reports are organized by a time period (by day, by week, etc.) as their primary dimension. Line charts can also have a secondary dimension (by person, by activity, by verb, etc.), in which case Watershed will add additional lines for each item in the secondary dimension. This allows you to do things like compare the utilization of different courses over time.

When using two dimensions, the items of the secondary dimension can be hidden using checkboxes at the bottom of the report. If Unfiltered Line is turned on, Watershed will include a “Total” option that displays overall average data, as though a secondary dimension had not been applied. Take a look at this example below:

In this example, a user is able to compare a single learner’s score to the total average score and the benchmark.
